Terms of Service

1. Purpose

These Terms define the conditions under which users (hereinafter "you" or "the User") may access and use the Splitz Service. Splitz is an expense-sharing application published by Reflective, that allows you to scan receipts, split costs among group members, and manage reimbursements in multiple currencies.

2. Description of the Service

Splitz offers the following features:

• Creation of shared expense groups
• Receipt scanning with automatic item and price recognition
• Expense splitting (equal shares, by item, custom amounts)
• Multi-currency management with automatic conversion at current exchange rates
• Automated recurring expenses
• Balance calculation and reimbursement optimization
• Real-time synchronization between group members

3. Registration and User Account

Using Splitz requires creating an account. You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities carried out under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use the Service. If you are between 16 and 18 years old, you represent that you have obtained authorization from your legal guardian.

4. Use of the Service

4.1 User Obligations

By using Splitz, you agree to:

• Use the Service in accordance with its intended purpose and these Terms
• Not attempt to circumvent the Service's security measures
• Not use the Service for unlawful or fraudulent purposes
• Not transmit malicious content (viruses, spyware, etc.)

4.2 Restrictions

You may not:

• Reproduce, modify or distribute all or part of the Service without authorization
• Use bots, scrapers or any automated means to access the Service
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or the experience of other users

5. Intellectual Property

All elements of the Service (software, design, trademarks, logos, text, images) are the exclusive property of Splitz or its partners and are protected by intellectual property laws. Any unauthorized reproduction, representation or exploitation of these elements is strictly prohibited.

6. Liability and Warranties

Splitz makes every effort to ensure the availability and proper functioning of the Service. However, the Service is provided "as is" and Splitz does not guarantee the absence of interruptions, errors or defects.

Splitz shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Service, including errors in receipt recognition, inaccuracies in exchange rates, or loss of data.

Splitz is not a payment institution, financial service or banking service. The application does not carry out any financial transactions. The management of actual reimbursements between users is the sole responsibility of the users themselves.

7. Personal Data

The collection and processing of your personal data are governed by our Privacy Policy, accessible from the "Privacy Policy" link at the bottom of each page. We invite you to review it.

8. Modification of Terms

Splitz reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will take effect upon publication on the Service. In the event of a substantial change, we will notify you via an in-app notification or by email. Continued use of the Service after the publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the application settings. Deletion will result in the erasure of your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations. Splitz reserves the right to suspend or delete your account in the event of a violation of these Terms, without notice or compensation.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these Terms, the parties shall endeavor to find an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Paris, France.
